This all Doman stuff must sound crazy to you and it sounds crazy to me, too. However, I do not belong to a group of traditional mums and I need something more so I decided to give it a try. I am really curious to know if it really works. Being a crazy and, at the same time, well-organized mum I have already completed all Doman’s suggestions on teaching maths to a baby. What now? Let’s make it even crazier.

I have already gone beyond Doman’s ideas – I introduced percentages. Let’s do roots now. It certainly won’t do any harm because I can’t imagine how looking at maths may be harmful. Certainly, it will stimulate my baby’s brain contributing to its growth.

WE HAVE OFFICIALLY COMPLETED ALL THE SIGHT WORDS FLASHCARDS

In the previous post I said that I had started doing less and less daily “sessions,” which also means having less and less cards per day. After a few days we were left with 3 sets, 5 cards in each instead of our usual 4 sets. I decided we would manage to do these although nothing had changed in Maja’s attitude.

LEARNING THROUGH PLAY WITH THE DOMAN METHOD

I have read three books by Glenn Doman and I can summarize his method this way: we show 5 word cards as quickly as possible and we praise a child loudly expressing a sincere joy while doing this. This is what one session looks like. It doesn’t matter if we have 5 reading cards or maths cards or bits of intelligence cards for developing encyclopedic knowledge.
